VISION

MISSION

Montrose Classical Academy will fulfill its vision by implementing the Core Knowledge Sequence within a classical education framework that systematically builds knowledge while honoring diverse learning styles. Through explicit instruction, differentiated support, and responsive teaching practices, we ensure every student demonstrates competency in essential content and develops critical thinking skills. Our program combines rigorous academics with character development, empowering all students to develop into knowledgeable, confident, and engaged citizens ready for future success.

MCA envisions a school community where the time-tested principles of classical education combine with research-based understanding of varied learner needs, creating an environment where every student discovers their potential and develops the knowledge and character to succeed and become productive and self-reliant individuals.

We are the MCA EXPLORERS!

We are proposing to open with grades K-5, adding one grade per year thereafter until we fully reach grades K-8.

The “Explorers” constantly seek excellence, care for others, model exceptional values and are grounded in the principles of liberty!

Cardinal Virtues

01.

GRATITUDE

Gratitude is not only the greatest of the virtues, but the parent of all the others ~ Cicero

02.

WISDOM (Prudence)

Wisdom is concerned with the mind. It is the virtue that allows us to judge correctly what is right and what is wrong.

03.

JUSTICE

Justice is concerned with the will. Justice is connected to the idea of legal and natural rights, and our will to protect those rights.

04.

COURAGE

(Fortitude)

Wisdom and Justice are the virtues through which we decide what needs to be done; Courage gives us the strength to do it.

05.

SELF CONTROL

(Temperance)

Self-Control keeps us from excess and leads us to virtuous living. While Courage is concerned with the restraint of fear so we can do what is right, Self-Control is the restraint of our desires or passions so that we can live well.

An MCA Explorer Is...

  • A Great Citizen

  • An Inspired Learner

  • Caring and Empathetic

  • An Eloquent Communicator

  • Dedicated to Service in Causes Greater than Self

Ways You Can Support MCA

Thank you for your interest in making this school a reality! Below are a few ways you can help:

1.) SPREAD THE NEWS

We need your help to spread awareness about MCA to all of your friends, families, and colleagues. As part of our application, we need a visible outpouring of support from the families in Montrose and Olathe to demonstrate to the District that this is an option people are seeking for their children. Below, are flyers that you can download and share! There is both an English and Spanish version.

3.) DONATE

Marketing materials, events, website fees and many other start-up expenses are very expensive. The board has been paying for these costs personally, but we need help. We are looking forward to receiving donations so that we can ramp up our efforts and reach even more families within our communities of Montrose and Olathe.

DONATE NOW

For any questions regarding your donation, please reach out to us at info@montroseclassical.org

4.) WRITE LETTERS

People with children who might attend this school, as well as those without children, may write or email the seven current MCSD school Board Members to express their desire for this educational option in our town. Attached, is a document with the contact information for each Board Member along with helpful hints for writing your letter. Please email us with any questions.
