Non-Discriminatory Practices
Montrose Classical Academy does not discriminate in admissions on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, religion, ancestry, creed, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other protected characteristic. We welcome all students and families who wish to be part of our learning community.
Lottery Procedures
Random Selection: Our lottery uses a computerized random number generator to ensure fairness and transparency.
Public Process: The lottery is conducted publicly via our SchoolMint application and lottery software.
Preference Categories: Students are selected within preference categories as defined by Colorado law and our charter agreement.
Notification: All families who submitted applications will be notified of their lottery status within 48 hours of the lottery.

Waitlist Information
Waitlist Management: Students not initially selected are placed on a waitlist in the order drawn during the lottery.
Seat Offers: As seats become available, families on the waitlist are contacted in order and given 72 hours to accept or decline the offer.
Waitlist Duration: The waitlist remains active through the first month of school. After that, families must reapply during the next enrollment period.
Multiple Children: Each child is entered separately in the lottery. If one sibling is enrolled, other siblings receive sibling preference in future lotteries.

Tuition & Fees
Tuition-Free Education
As a public charter school, Montrose Classical Academy charges no tuition. All students receive a high-quality, content-rich education at no cost to families.

Optional Fees
MCA may charge minimal fees for:
- Field trips and special events (with financial assistance available)
- School supplies (basic supply lists provided; assistance available for families in need)
Fee Waivers: No student will be denied participation in any school activity due to inability to pay. Fee waivers and financial assistance are available for all optional fees.

All information provided in this enrollment application will be kept confidential and, unless otherwise required by law, will only be accessed by those with a legitimate educational interest as defined by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Note: Enrollment information will be shared with SchoolMint (our enrollment management system), Minga (our school operations platform), Montrose County School District, and other parties who have a legitimate educational interest in accordance with FERPA regulations.
Lottery Acknowledgement
The undersigned hereby acknowledges and agrees that submission of an enrollment application does not guarantee admission to Montrose Classical Academy. In the event that the number of applications received during the enrollment period exceeds the number of available seats, the undersigned understands that Montrose Classical Academy shall conduct a random lottery in accordance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations and school policies to determine student placement.
The undersigned further acknowledges that they will be notified of their child's lottery status and/or placement in accordance with the school's established enrollment timeline. In the event that the student is not initially selected through the lottery process, the undersigned understands that the student may be placed on a waiting list for future openings at Montrose Classical Academy.
